Behind the scenes: Our template design process
We don't just throw databases together. Here's how we decide what goes into each template.
Every template starts with a problem. For the financial dashboard, the problem was "I don't know my gross margin without exporting data into a spreadsheet." We build around a single pain point.
Then we sketch. Not in Notion — on paper. We map out the minimum viable number of databases, properties, and views. If a field doesn't serve a decision we cut it.
We test with three store owners who have never seen the template. Watch them try to use it. If they hesitate on a label or miss a button, we simplify. Then we write the one-page guide.
Our templates are opinionated. We don't offer 50 customization options. We give you a solid default that works out of the box. You can always tweak later.
